The "World's Most Memorable Poster" Competition's goal is to to increase the awareness of the importance of poster art and its stimulating influence on the public. By recognizing the best of poster art, we promote a design medium that not only brings life to public places - accessible to everyone. Urban Art International, invites your participation in the "16th Annual World's Most Memorable Poster Competition. "Each year the award is given to a poster that presents a message that attracts the viewer, while providing a strong image that lasts. Urban Art International will select 15 to 20 posters from the US that will be included in the International Competition. In January 2002 an international jury will select the "World's Most Memorable Poster 2001." The jury will also select approximately 70 posters that will be part of the International Traveling Exhibit touring the world in 2002 - starting with a large exhibition in Paris in January 2002. The award for the "World's Most Memorable Poster 2001" was won by Luba Lukova from New York, who will receive the "Award Savignac" -the Oscar for Poster Art - during a ceremony at the 2002 Exhibition in Paris. Four American artists received this prestigious award: 1996 Milton Glaser, 2001 Luba Lukova, 1994 Rafai Obinski ,1986 McRay Magleby. The winners of the American Competition will be exhibited throughout the world. We look forward to reviewing your best current work.
